Wednesday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 7/pgs:47-51,min:14

Samuel visited Smith and brought him some food. Samuel thought it would be his last. Smith told Samuel that he has been in chains before and that he had escaped. Smith was a solder but he was captured and sold as a slave. Later he was working in the fields and he was using something like a bat for the crops. The Master was on a horse with a whip. He whipped Smith, Smith got angry so he got the bat thing and hit his Master until the life was no longer in him. Smith got his Master's clothes and horse and rode of to freedom. Reverend comes marching up to them with a key. He told Smith that he was free due from the gentlemen. They had voted that they rather live than be killed by Indians because they don't know how to communicate to them. Unlike Smith could. Smith was free but if he ever utter a bad thing to the men, he would be back in chains. If he did say a word, they would rather have their pride than survive in the "New World". They sail off to a new island.Suribachi
