Friday/Tiltle:Blood on the River, chapter 23/pgs:186-192,min:20

There was a ship coming with Captain Newport and it had food so everybody had to come back. When Samuel came back, he felt a little weird with wearing his English clothes but he still wore the knife holder and the knife he made. He had the other stuff in the corner. The ship had arrived and Samuel and Richard went to see. The ship had brought food and some thing that they wouldn't expect, not only men but women with families. Samuel also saw Ann and John Laydon, his jaw dropped. He saw Ann rounded in the belly in the middle, he thought that John gave her his food rations and her own made her like that. Richard elbowed him and whispered that she is having a baby. Samuel was relived because if Richard haven't told him, he would have embarrassed her. Ann said that if it was a girl they would name her Virginia. The Virginia Company made a new charter, that there would no longer be presidents, there would now be a governor to rule them. The first governor was on his way,Sir Thomas Gates, next year is Sir Thomas West, and next will be Lord De La Warr and he will be lord governor and Captain General. Smith says that he wants to see him but they told him that Thomas is on his way but days go by and he is yet to come and Smith is losing his power and most importantly his respect. One morning two guys come running and shouting to each other if he saw the Savage's face. Samuel and Smith went to see what they have done. They both had stolen from the temples and set them on fire, they even murdered some Indians. Smith was outraged, now he had to go keep peace before war broke out. The new settlers didn't understand why they had to keep peace, they thought that the Indians were bad. The next morning, Smith took three men and the two guys who caused all that wanted to go as well, ether they were bored or they wanted to do harm to Smith that Raccliff and Archer and other people who hate Smith planned.

Captain Newport is taking the goods to the Virgina Company for money. The bad thing is that they took almost all the food for the trip since it is winter. They needed food badly so Smith went to trade food but Chief Powhatan declined. All they had to eat was grain but one day they were the Natives there. They didn't have any food but they held a deal from Chief Powhatan. Ether they traded some guns, beads, several swords and copper. Smith had no choice but to agree but he told them he would trade gifts instead of the guns and swords. He had to take them to Chief Powhatan by boat but Smith suspected that it might be a trap. Smith dropped Samuel at Warraskoyack were it was still a friendly tribe. Samuel was to inform the others if it was a trap and if Captain Smith did die. In the tribe Samuel met Kainta. He thought Samuel all the things of his people. They were a really busy tribe, so Samuel tried to help a girl cook but her brother, Kianta, pulled him a way and showed him what men's jobs are. They first went to hunt but Kainta had to show Samuel how to makes a bow, arrows and knives. After they did Samuel was hungry so they wen to the cook pot and used some oyster shells to scoop some soup and they ate some bread. It was like they were rich, they could eat all they needed and there were no rations. When they were hunting Kainta told his mother to make Samuel some moccasins and they even cut his hair, bald on the left and long hair on the right. She used two clam shells to do it, it hurt Samuel but he sucked it up. They both went hunting but Samuel met Namotack, he was the messenger. Samuel looked like he was going to cry but he told Samuel that Smith was okay and that it was a trap but Pocahontas told them to get away. All three of them hunted and each got a rabbit and Samuel killed his first rabbit in one shot. One day Samuel and his new friend were playing a game like football, but then he sees some kids come. It was Richard and the other servants! They told Samuel that Smith told them to go there because rats ate their food so they went to different places to survive. They made fun of Samuel with his hair due and his clothes, the moccasins and the deer skin.

Wednesday/ttle:Blood on the River, chapter 21/ pgs:165-172,min:20

It took a long trip on boat. When they get there Chief Powhatan has to kneel so Newport can crown him but he acts as he don't know what to do. Captain Newport demonstrates making him look dumb. Chief Powhatan still pretended so Newport order two men to push him down, it wasn't easy. When they got back Miss.Ann was Allowed to marry. She was marrying was John Laydon, or the man who made the little box with her name carved on it. Reverend Hunt and Captain Smith were both in good moods. One day Reverend Hunt gets sick, sometimes too sick that it sends him to bed. Richard took good care of him and even Samuel helped him. When he was about to die, Samuel and him talked. He told Samuel that he would become something more than a servant one day but Samuel asked him what. Reverend told hm that he would figure it out. Later Samuel thanked him for every thing, the opportunity and a lot more, but after that he died. It was a wet day, so rainy that the houses started to flood. Tuesday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 20/pgs:156-164, min:17

Samuel was jittery with excitement. He was going to the tribe Werwocomoco. That's where Namotack lives and he was their guidance. Only Samuel, Captain Smith and some solders. Smith told Samuel to take his sword and armor but Samuel thought why if both tribes were in peace but he didn't disobey Smith. When he was walking back he saw a man carving a box and he was carving a name. Samuel asked if it was for Ann, he didn't talk, Samuel knew it was for her so he told him that she liked flowers. He said thanks. Well at least Samuel had an idea of who was going to win her heart because the other guys tried to win her by boasting their guns and armor. It was a 8 mile hike until they got there. Chief Powhatan wasn't there, he was at another tribe 20 mile away. When they did Samuel was hungry and the Powhatans gave them a what they expected was a feast. There was a noise in the bushes, Samuel, Smith and the solder hold up their weapons. It was just Pocahontas that came out. She sat between Smith and Samuel and she barley recognized him so she gave him a hug. She said that they were going to like this. It was a performance, three women dressed in costumes had weapons and horns. It was better than the plays in England. After the play Pocahontas took them to a house, there were the actors. They were flirting with the solders, Samuel asked Pocahontas who taught them the words they said to them. She shrugged. They sat down and there Samuel finally ate, there was so much food that he couldn't even eat a fraction of it. When Samuel yawned, Namotack saw him and took him t his house, he told Samuel that he would sleep at his house. Namotack was right about every thing, their houses were so comfy and warm. That was the best day of Samuel's life, he hoped that his mother opened a window from heaven to see that he is an apprentice of a president and he was a commoner.

Monday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 19/pgs:144-155,min:19

Since Captain Smith was the president he made a rule:"If a man shall not work, a man shall not eat". So every one worked hard, and he was liked. One day Samuel and Richard were working on the fields gathering beans ans soon they hear a ship. It had the British flag. Samuel and Richard left to greet the ship. As they go they see more people, and Smith hopes that they are hard corker and not gentlemen. As the people unloaded Samuel saw a two women on board. one was married and old but the other was young. He also sees Namotack, he is wearing a linen shirt but his hair was the same. Samuel asked Namotack that where was his stick. He said that he through it to the ocean because there were so many people. Samuel tells him that he is speaking English good, better than before. Again the rock they had sent were just rocks but The Virgina Company still wanted money so they told the team to use the natural resources to make pottery and glass. Namotack told Samuel that the king they had was weak and small but the king he had was strong and big. Samuel was angry because King James wanted to make Chief Powhatan his subject. Miss. Ann Burras made a big impression with the men and she was at a marriage age, 14, but she didn't want to marry them, she wanted the right man. Miss.Ann was serving Mrs. Forrest but she didn't do anything, Ann did everything for her. Ann was asked to get some water and there were Samuel and Richard. They asked her to get the water since they were already dirty and bare foot. Samuel and Richard asked Ann to be friend with her and she agreed. They had a chat, stuff of Mrs. Forrest. She leaves so Samuel and Richard are back in the fishing nets. Samuel hopes that Mrs. Forrest isn't eating Ann's food rations because he never dug a grave for a girl and he isn't gonna start now.

When Samuel was on the streets of London, he had no one to rely to. He only relied on himself but the fire had changed every one. Samuel know relied on Captain Newport and Captain Smith and even Richard. After the fire, Pocahontas come with several men because they came to see if they were all right. Pocahontas ran to Smith's cabin, she began to cry for she had loved the things he had there. She told them that her father will sent gifts to them because Smith is now her brother. They start to build houses and they even made the fort bigger. They had made an interesting trade, they had sent Thomas Savage to Weromocomoco and Chief Powhatan sent one of his servants, Namontack. He helped rebuild and Newport taught him English and about Christ. He told Samuel about the ceremony that Smith was in and Pocahontas. It was a something to make him a part of the Powhatan. If Smith was one of them, so was everyone. That explained a lot to Samuel why they were helping them.By spring they have finished, they even made a well for water. Captain Newport was going off to England to leave the rocks and he is taking three new passengers, Master Wingfield and Master Archer for great dishonor. Namotack is also going to count how many people there are with a stick that Chief Powhatan gave him. He is supposed to make a mark for how many people there are. Samuel thinks that one stick is enough for the thousands people that will stare at him with nothing but a loincloth. Smith left on another expedition, and while he was gone President Ratcliffe made a decision might cost his presidency. He told all the kids to build him a cabin outside the fort and if they had refused they were going to receive a whipping. When Smith came back, every one was angry as hornets. They old him that he made them build him a privet house and that he was eating more than his rations. They even said that he was worse than Master Winfield. They had him removed but they had to pick some one new, some one who new how to survive and reason with indians. Samuel was proud of who they had picked, Captain John Smith.

Thursday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 7/ pgs:128-135,min:17

Captain Newport made so many changes to them that it made their heads spin. Captain Smith was freed and Master Archer is taking off the council. The men didn't even think if sailing off to England and leaving others dead. Captain Newport brought so much food that when they heard a Wingapo, they didn't had to trade for food any more. But they didn't know that the Indians were giving it to them as a gift. Something in a canoe gets Richards eyes, its a girl. She trots up to Smith and tells him from her father, Chief Powhatan. Samuel told Richard that it was the girl who saved Smith. Richard and Samuel gulp as they see Smith bring the girl to them and tells them that she is Pocahontas, the playful one. He wants them to show the place to her. They first show Smith's cabin. She looks around and sees a knife that Smith uses to shave, she pretends to cut herself to fool Richard and Samuel. They both scream and examine her to see if she did cut herself but she began to giggle. Pocahontas told Samuel that she can beat him at a race so they both went outside. Richard gave the word, they ran but Samuel beat her. This was odd to both of them because the next thing she did was take off her deer skin and told Samuel to race again, she won him by a mile. Then she started to show them how to do a cartwheel. Captain Newport told them that the rocks they sent to the Virgina Company didn't contain any gold. The company still wanted gold so the men set out in the morning to mine but someone left something near the night fire and it caught on fire. Every one was throwing buckets of water to stop it. Captain Newport said to make a line and to pass the buckets one by one. They were able to stop the fire. Samuel was sad because they put so much work and every thing was lost in the fire, the men's clothes and even Newport's bible.

Tuesday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 15/ pgs:115-122,min:14

Samuel watched the Discovery ship and the gentlemen loading supplies on to it. A guy said that he'd shoot the people in the fort but the other man said that he died before he could reload and others might die too. Samuel heard the doors of the fort open, there were Indians there. There was only one man that wasn't Indian but not white. It was Captain Jack Smith! He told the men to aim the canons at the ship and he yelled to them that they ether gave them the loads back or be sunken. They asked him that where were Jehu Robinson and Thomas Emry. Smith told them that they were dead, captured by the Indians. Strangely, they gave up easily. They were on the rowboats returning the supplies. After they did the men just stayed in the Discovery, ether they were making a plan or who knows. Everybody was asking Smith on his adventures, he told them that he tell them later after breakfast. He told them that he was captured by the Indians, the ones that brought him to the fort and they are waiting patiently at the doors. He told them that they took him to their leader, Chief Powhatan. They were gonna chop his head off but a little girl told them no and hugged Smith. He promised them two canons. He almost forgot, the canons. He told the Indians that those two canons were for them. Samuel was surprised, he wouldn't trade swords or guns but he would trade canons. The Indians tried to move the canons but they were heavy. Smith told him that he would give them something lighter. They walked with many jewels and beads that were equal amount. At that moment Smith was arrested again for the lives of Jehu and Thomas. Master Archer said that it was the Hammurabi rule, an eye for an eye, a life for a life. Archer said that he was to protect them but he let them die. Smith did a big fuss but they one. When Archer wasn't looking,Samuel through a roach at him and he wanted to punching again and again but Smith told him that to make that his strength not his weakness. He had to contains it but it was too much so Samuel went for Archer.

The Indians also told them that there are other tribes, some are enemies and some are friendly. That explained the attacks. They gave them some advice, they had to cut the tall grass so the enemy couldn't hide. Every one was healthy enough to work. Smith is in charge of the houses. They almost finished. Every time they go to sleep people would come in and get some fire because Smith isn't their so they been slacking off. They would just sleep until the fire went out but the only ones who actually worked was Samuel and Richard. I say that they had became good friends already. At mid-day, the men who went with Smith to trade and explore had came but Smith had not and also some men were missing. They had a note, it was describing that Smith was fine and to give the Panmunkies five hatchets, that he had promised it to them. In the morning at New Years Eve Richard had to make breakfast but the food was gone and so were the men, only the Solders were gone except one or three.

Friday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 13/pgs:98-104,min:12

Smith takes all the credit that he found the stash and Wingfield is no longer the president. Samuel shows the Sword to Richard and lets him put on the armor. He begins to snivel, he began to think that James should had have armor. That gave Samuel an idea. He went to Smith and asked him if Richard cold have weapons ans armor too. He agreed, with every one that had died there would be enough to ever one who doesn't have protection. When every one has a musket they begin to train with it. They fire at a tree until it is covered with shots. On a day, Samuel and Richard hear a Wingapo. The put on their armor and rush to the gates. There were at least 10 Indians with one basket each. Smith negotiates with them, they say that they will trade food for beads, hatchets, swords and muskets. Smith got the baskets and the Indians left with some colorful beads, bells and 3 hatchets. Smith won't trade any sword or gun and wont trade cheap.

Thursday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 12/ pgs:89-97,min:14

On the next day of training, Captain Smith brings a book. Samuel was disappointed because he thought that he was going to learn how to use a musket. Smith explained how that book helped him and how much it will help Samuel. That book held important words, it was a translator. It translated the language that the Indians used the English. That book showed Smith the worlds he used to make peace with the Indians. A man that came to the island before them wrote the book for future generations. Every day Samuel had to learn at least 2 new words. All they had to eat there was wormy rice with salty water. Soon all men became sick and were not able to work, they had no idea what it was. Samuel was still good enough to stand, he helped Smith and Richard. Samuel tried to befriend Richard. All of the gentlemen started to dispute. That it was the salty water, another said it was the food. It was amazing that they were still able to make the conflict longer, but it didn't last for when they got worse. Master Wingfield had a stash of eggs and meat and was discovered by Samuel because his apprentice told him. Later the gentle men looked much better and so did Smith.

He also told him that he was him apprentice had to learn. They started to train the on the sword first. Samuel strike but he was rejected and he was scared because Smith poked him with his sword but Samuel had the armor. They started to train every day. Monday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 10/pgs: 75-80,min:14

Samuel and others were discussing on how to survive a attack when the Indians did invade. Some men owned swords and a musket and they also wore a lot of armor, which Samuel and the non-solders didn't have. James said that he would run to the ship but Samuel tried to tell him the he would be killed by then. Richard said that he would grab the mattress and hide under it but Samuel also disagreed that the arrows would just pass through the straws. Later when they were all asleep, some thing woke up Samuel. Men were crying in agony. James quickly got up and started running to the ship but Samuel got his ankle and told him not to go but he slipped away and ran. Samuel tipped the mattress and got himself and Richard under it. Samuel asked Richard if he had gotten hit but he didn't. There was a loud bang, it was the canons from the ship. He thought it was James aboard the ship and he was still alive. When the enemy left they counted how many injuries and killed. There were 13 injuries and no killed. The man firing the canon was holding a limp body, it was James! He said there was one dead. What will happen next.....

Friday/title:Blood on the River, chapter 9/pgs:63-74,20

After supper Samuel goes to Smith to ask him if they will have war. Smith said that they wouldn't if they traded their stuff and befriended the Indians. There was a box that the Virginia Company had to say who were the leaders. No one was surprise that Captain Wingfield was one of them but the last person surprised them all, it was Captain John Smith. Master Wingfield put up a big fuss about Smith being a leader. That he was still under arrest but Smith knew that later they will be begging for advice. In a morning Samuel heard a man shout Wingapo. Samuel knew what that meant because Smith told him that it meant greetings. They both had long bows so they thought the Indians were enemies but they had baskets. They traded it for some glass beads ans some bronze. Like about every day they come and trade but some people think they are really spying to know were they are and how many people. Men said that they should make a fort but Smith told them that it would make the Indian think that they were enemies.

Smith told Samuel to stand one one leg, he couldn't. Smith also pushed him slightly and Samuel fell. With the ocean currents moving and Smith pushing him, it was mostly impossible. Samuel sat there, by 12 minutes he had to use the bucket for #2. He didn't wasn't to ask James but he didn't want to spoil his good clothes. He had no choice, he asked Smith but he was his master. All Samuel could rely on was James. James did give it to him but Samuel had to say sorry. The ships have reached it's destination, the soon to be the new world. The men grabbed their shovels and headed out. Smith told him to make housed and crops first but Newport said they have to mine the gold first and they go home early. Smith told them that he came to the island to explore and expand England. So they all started back to the ships to gather supplies. Samuel heard a cry, it came from the Island. It was two guys that had been shot from the Indians. One guy had been shop in both hands and the other had been shot twice in the torso with arrows. The sailors had pumped up their muskets but it was too slow and the Indians got away.

Reverend comes marching up to them with a key. He told Smith that he was free due from the gentlemen. They had voted that they rather live than be killed by Indians because they don't know how to communicate to them. Unlike Smith could. Smith was free but if he ever utter a bad thing to the men, he would be back in chains. If he did say a word, they would rather have their pride than survive in the "New World". Samuel wanted to make the passage but a kid pushed him and took the hatchet so Samuel was stuck cleaning. There were screams, it was at the passages. Samuel got a sword that he found in the sand. Everyone thought that the Indians were attacking but it was a plant that is like poison ivy only that it burns a lot. Samuel sees some Indians in canoes and Smith does some sign language that he wants to trade. They agree and bring food. The chef on the bouts named some fruits like pineapple. Samuel was curios so he asked Smith how he knew all that. He said that it wasn't really that hard, the Indians in England used the same type of sign language to strangers.

Ned and the Marines had to swim to the island and the Japanese were waiting so they would get close enough to attack. They were like sitting ducks on a hill. Smitty was digging a hole for protection and Ned was sending radio transmissions. Ned was safe now in their foxhole and he ate his steak sandwich, the enemy was screaming on the radio to scare the solders, since they both had the same transmissions. The mission was to take Mount Suribachi and they would win the island, they had taken the island and six men put up the American flag and one was Navajo, this was so famous that they made a statue of all the men and man named Sergent Louis Lowery had a camera and took a picture but it had been crushed by two enemy solder attacked and they crushed it but the film was luckily saved. Bad for Ned that he was below were it had happened, he had missed a glorious moment.

Thursday/title:Code Talker, chapter 24 Iwo Jima & chapter 25 In Sight Of Suribachi/pgs:172-183,min:23

It is February 9th and every one have arrived at Iwo Jima. North of Mount Suribachi was the winning land. Iwo Jima is a small island and they thought that it would be easy to conquer but they were wrong. There was a new commander for the Japanese and he told them to kill at least 10 American solders before dieing. Most of the Japanese solders wore white bands around their foreheads and it was believed to help the wearer so they wouldn't get shot and die it was called the sinnimbaris. It didn't work for the Japanese for 20,000 were dead but so were many of us.

Some people thought that the island was like the underworld were the devil lives. The Japanese were well protected from the deep hole they dug, and well supplied too, they had tons of food and water. The marines were really mad that the food they had was labeled U.S.A FOOD RELIEF, and that food was stolen from the citizens of Japan and the Navajos were the one who gave them that food. Every time Ned ate the cook always told him" Good Luck, Leatherneck", but he knew that they were just joking and Just maybe he would die. When Ned got his lunch, he wrapped it and saved it for later and that was smart because he would have to go on a bout and most people through up and Ned could also save it when he if in his foxhole and he is starving.

Wednesday/title:Code Talker, chapter 23 Pavavu/pg:163-171,min:20

It was New Years Eve,1945 and Ned Begay was recovered but still was kinda stiff. Pavavu was steamy hot and there were bugs the size of a baby. DDT was a very bad poison but that's the only thing they had to use so you wouldn't get infected with the new decease that was carried in insects but there were so many mice that it wouldn't matter. Ned never knew that when a Japanese solder was not killed in a banzai, he would be great shame and would be beaten or even staved.

There were more than 18,000 Japanese solder on Guam. The Chamorros were people who lived in Guam, if you think that the Navajos had it bad think again the Chamorros had it way harder. When they got envaded they had no where to run from there being water every were. Ned and his friends find a little boy whos family had been killed by the Japanese, so they took care of him for awhile. He even made a little sad song and a little bit to long to type but if you want to know just feel free ro ask me.

Thursday/title:Code Talker, chapter 19 DO YOU HAVE A NAVAJO?/pgs:135-140,min:18

Ned was the one who gained most of the respect for the Navajos and he was really proud of himself. Even the Sargent put a note on the wall, it said that the Navajos really earned to be on every battalion to protect and sent out warnings from every were. Ned had to go back were ever one is at to share and learn more code that they had been making up, remember that the code is new and only started out with 265 words but now it had doubled. Ned had learned a lot. Ned had a chance to relax and enjoy the peace and some drank heavily to for get the war and what has happened and Ned was tempted to drink but he just drank a bottle of Coca-Cola.

Wednesday/title:Code Talker, chapter 18 On Bougainvill/pgs:120-134,min:21

Ned and his comrades had been force to take some pills that were huge and they tasted like mud that has been urinated on and the taste didn't come off for along time, it took hours s the awful taste would just to get some of the taste off, but they were for a good cause, it made the chance of having malaria small. Yes i don't know what malaria now. Ned had made a fun way to trick the sarge from them to not take the pill. All they did was that they put it in there mouth but when he left Ned would spit it out and through it behind the radio. But when the Sarge knew about this he made them drink a glass of water so it would wash down and then he would check, well that was the end of tricking the Sarge even though it was a lot of fun for them. When Ned was in training they would give him some supplies and they would give him some C-rations, that was some food in a can just in case a man got lost and was hungry. There was different types of rations, like D-rations that was a hard candy with sugar, chocolate and oats, there was also K-rations, they had a lot more in them some time even fruit drinks, toilet paper, peanuts, and chewing gum, they both had to be waterproof. There was more interesting things in the Japanese rations, like Japanese candies and stew and they had some writing in them but some through them away but some kept them as souvenirs. Later the Japanese knew that the Americans and Navajos were taking them away so they had some explosives on them so when some one picked up a knife or a rations some thing would blow up. When Ned found out he sent a message on the radio and then the Americans knew that the Navajos were easy to teach and that some were even better than them, so they had Navajos on every battalion and squad. Later on in the war like two days Ned received a note, it was from his parents back home, it said that they loved him and that they were praying that he wouldn't get hurt. Ned sent them some of his clothes so they could do that thing with the singer but there in his clothes he still is there. Ned was smiling at the P.S note in the bottom, it was from his little sister that she was asking him that when is she going to see him and that she wants to know all about his adventures.

Monday/title:Code Talker, chapter 16 Bombarment/pgs:105-112,min:20

Ned had known the code for some time now, so it's time he puts it to some use. He has already know all the moves and maneuvers, so it's time to fight the enemy. It's it night and Ned was reunited with his friends from boot camp, war has a weird way of uniting people. No one could light a match and it was pitch black and if there was a bit of light, the enemy would open fire and they would be dead, so they had to be very careful. Ned had to wait for the war boats to arrive, but in the meanwhile they were having a conversation and some were singing so the time would pass by. The ships have arrived and they fired at the enemy but the solders remained still for they wouldn't get hit and the ships had to shoot the missiles so the Japanese would retreat but they have not, they were still, waiting to attack...

Friday/title:Code Talker, chapter 14 The Enemies & chapter 15 Field Manuvers/pgs:95-104,min:23

Ned was thinking that he was going off to go fight monsters, not human beings. There was allot of bodies of the Japanese were left unburied and that was a fearfully thing for the Navajos to see. The traditions told them to avoid the of the ones who have died because sometimes a bad spirit remains around the body, if a person died in a Hogan, the Hogan would be abandoned forever. It was not easy for the Navajos to step over them and it was really hard to even be in the same foxhole for the whole night and they even had to touch the dead but it was their duty. The enemy had to do their duty too, one of their first duty was to fight until they had died, yep i don't like that nether. Even if they had been caught and had their gun taken away, they would still try to kill with a hidden knife. All they had was five rules in combat
1. Obey without question or hesitation.
2. Always take the offence.
3. Surprise the enemy when ever possible.
4. Never retreat.
5 Never surrender.
After Ned saw some of the Japanese that were taken prisoners, that most had been taken away from their homes to work for the army as laborers, later Ned figured out that the Japanese were not monsters at all, just human beings.
Ned had to go to more training, he had to walk all the way through the desert for miles and there were only 3 Navajos and the rest were Americans. Ever one was really tired and they only had one canteen of water so if they ran out they die. Ever one had finished their canteen by half way there but Ned and his friends had made it without any water and their canteens were full and not a drop drank but every one asked if they could have some water and even the Sargent asked and every one had collapsed so they made Ned and his friends go to the camp and to bring back a water truck. The secret was that they were drinking from the cacti that were all over the place but they never told and it was big fun because everyone was amazed that they didn't drink any water.

As soon they reached the land Ned was assigned a cabin and Ned loved the food, all the white men got sick of it but the Navajos were getting seconds but the only thing they refused to eat was fish and there were so few animals but some Navajo men got used to it.

Wednesday/title:Code Talker, chapter 12 Learning The Code/min 20,pgs:76-84

Ned learned the Code but it took some time and hard work. He also learned some new thing that was to use a new gun and some moves to use while in close combat or in counter attack, he had to use the gun to hit the enemy or use the knife on the enemy. It took allot of time but he managed to accomplished the school of learning the code for the war. The best thing was that they let him talk Navajo but they didn't in his school. At the end of training, the Sargent told then that they had past the stuff and that they are ready to transport the code throughout the war. At night they dressed in Navajo and danced all night long and some white men even danced with then even if they don't know the steps and the words.

Tuesday/ title:Code Talker, chapter 11 Code School/pgs:68-75,min15

Ned is done with school and now had graduated from the 297th and now they have to go to a jail but the surprise was that they didn't get in trouble, it was another school but only for Navajos since they only knew that language. What surprised Ned was that the teachers were Navajo and there weren't any Navajo teachers. They made Ned and his mates translate words as fast as they could but the teachers wouldn't stop, they would keep a fast speed. That was to work on a code during the war so the Japanese couldn't understand since they both can listen to each other.

Friday/title:Code Talker, chapter 10 Boot Camp/pgs:57-67,min:18

Ned was sent to Boot Camp and there he endured many obstacles. First he had to cut off all of his hair but this time it was with a razor not scissors. Then Ned had to do some training the next day but first had to learn the leader and how to response and some men never holed a gun. The next day they had to do some long mile jogs and some White men finished really tired and some even through up but not the Navajos, they have already endured that stuff when taking the heard to the butcher or going to the trading post. The last thing they had to do was to learn how to swim, none of the Navajos knew how to swim. It was a real challenge and first they had o tie a blind fold and then the instructor would push them in, it was ether sink or swim but no one died. Ned was the last to swim because all he did was walk not swim. The most thing he like to do was to wrestle in one to one combat but he didn't like to fist fight, that made him fell naked.

Thurday/title:Code Talker, chapter 9 The Blessingway/Min:14,pgs:50-56

Ned has been patient to go to the war and his parents told him to wait a year but now a year has pasted and Ned cant wait to go. At the ceremony, Big School Boy was his name that everyone called him for respect, through some powder that was golden and gave some to Ned to through and it was to represent something. Ned was done at the ceremony so now it was time for Boot Camp.

Wednesday/title:Code Talker, chapter 8 New Recruits,min:18,pgs:45-49

Ned was told that the Marines was a tough job, that most people never even held a gun, and most did quit because it was two hard but not the Navajos, none of them quit because they already had the training from guarding the animals and they held guns to protect the animals and the Marines walked very far but the Navajos walked to far places to trade goods. Ned always wanted to go to war but he was never old enough but now he is 16 and can join them. Ned also heard rumors that some of the Navajo marines got secret jobs but they were never seen again. Ned can't wait for the next sign up.

Tuesday/title:Code Talker, chapter 7 Navajos Wanted/min:13,pgs:38-44

Ned wanted to join the war but he was too young and he was 14 and he had to be at least 19 to join the Marines and fight, but Ned really wanted to go to war but he thought that it wouldn't last that long. The next year, the war was still on and the Americans needed help, so they got some Navajos to help, but they had to speak English well and be over aged. Ned had a chance to join because most of the Navajos weren't born in a hospital so they didn't have a birth certificate and in order for the Americans to know if some one was old enough to go to war, they would ask a relative. Ned hurried home to convince his parents to lie so he could go to war and help the country. Ned's parents asked him to go outside for a moment to discuss, Ned could hear but he didn't understand. After a discussion, They asked Ned to walk back inside and they told him that it was two dangerous for a 15 year old and that maybe he could go to the next sign up. Ned was really bummed but he was loyal to his parents command and went back to school.

Monday/title:Code Talker, chapter 5.High School & chapter 6. Sneak Attack/ min:15, pgs:28-38

Ned was invited to a high school that not very many go and it was better for Ned because it was closer and he was able to visit his younger brothers and sisters that were born while he was at school. School past by pretty quick for Ned, he was always interested in English and Social Studies. Ned never disobeyed or talk back, to the teachers he was a perfect little, obedient monkey. Only one time did Ned get caught when talking Navajo, he was caught by Mr.Straight. He had a pale face like a crescent moon and he had these small glasses that would fall of has nose and he would always push it back(every kid wanted them to fall off and hit the floor and brake). Ned never did like to speak up because he thought he might get embarrassed and make the other kids look dumber and then one day a teacher told him that he should. Ned always did return all the reports and he still remembers it. It was a report for the Japanese and that they were in trouble and that even that the Navajo were more poor but they were able to make two carts of canned goods but the Japanese didn't want it. After a year they started to invade the land around them and so did other countries. Another year again and the Japanese attacked America and every one hear it at the radio and Ned thinks that Navajo is next......... To be continued.

Friday/ title:Code Talker, chapter 4 Progress, TRADITION IS THE ENEMY OF PROGRESS/min:15,pgs:23-27

Ned was walking and then a teacher walks by so Ned, or Kii, greets him as the tradition is but as soon Ned had enough he trough him to the ground and a boy helped Ned up, it was Tommy Nez and he was the first boy that was befriended by Ned, and another boy helped that was named Jesse Chee. Ned now would never say any thing that is Navajo in order to avoid that again. Days turned into weeks and months into years, Ned had the best grade and still speaks Navajo when there arn't any teachers around. Ned learned many new things and that there are some kids that keep speaking Navajo that washing their mouths isn't enough, so there are some kids that get beaten by big, heavy sticks and there is one kid that was getting hit and the stick broke and that the kid was used to it that he didn't even cry. Ned will still learn hard of the Americans way but still remember that Navajo language, just in case it might come in handy.

Thursday/title:Code Talker,chapter 3,To Be Forgotten/min:18,pgs:19-22

Kii is standing and Mr. John Benally takes a group of kids including Kii and Kii is in the front of the line and two bigger Navajo boy grabbed Kii and sits him on a chair so another boy can cut off his hair. Mr. John told Kii that cutting you're hair is bad luck but the bilagaanaa, American, had other rules. Kii was led to another room but this room was divided to boys and girls and they had to sell their valuables and clothing to buy solder clothes and cab. The cap was big on Kii that it went over his eyes. The last place Kii had to go the Dene's office and there he would change the name of every student. The Dene was fond of the name of John so he gave it two 20 kids and their last names would be what he had heard. Kii was next, he told him his name, Kii Biye, then the Dene wrote something down and said that his name would now be Ned, after the Deen's Uncle, Begay.

Wednesday/title:Code Speaker,chapter 2 Boarding School/min:12,pgs:12-18

The journey to the school was so long that it took about three days. When Kii Yazhi arrived at the school, his uncle, as all the parents or relatives who took the kid to the school had to leave. The last thing Kii's uncle said was to remember, nothing else. He didn't even say goodbye, well maybe because there was no word in Navajo that meant goodbye. Kii walked into the school, he was sad but there were other Navajo kids there. As a tradition, Kii and the other kids stated their names and were they are from, the mother they were born to and the father they were born for. A kid stepped forward Kii and said Yaat'eeh,or hello and that his name was Many Horses and his mother he was born to was the Bitter Water Clan and was born for the Towering House, that he was from west of Chinle below the hills. Kii stated his name and that he was born to the Mud Clan and he was born for the Towering House. A round faced girl walked up and told Kii, Yaa'eeh my cousin, and that she was born also to the Mud Clan and for the Corn Clan and that her names is Dawn Girl. All of a sudden a white man walks up to the group of children and started to scream, but they did not know any English so they just looked down. The man had allot of hair unlike the Navajos, they any had hair on they scalp and they only allowed a little bit on hair on their upper lip and that the man was also the principle. Another man but this guy had dark skin unlike the white man that was red on skin and hair. The kids first thought that he was black, but then the man was actually a Navajo! The man told the children that they couldn't use the Navajo language anymore and that really bummed out the kids. The only word that the man told them was what the word hello meant and taught them how to say it.
